Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Participants receive a packet containing materials and a booklet with nine lessons, each requiring about an hour to complete. Students can either submit one lesson per week starting June 10th or work at their own pace, ensuring all lessons are submitted by August 7th. Lessons are mailed to GRASP for evaluation and returned with feedback. Students who successfully complete at least 7 lessons with a minimum of 70% accuracy will earn a certificate. Those who achieve 70% accuracy across all 9 lessons will receive a medal. Certificates and medals will now be distributed by schools, rather than mailed directly to participants as in previous years. When registering, please select the grade level your child has just completed to ensure they review the material they have already covered. The class fee is $35 for one subject or $60 for both subjects ($30 each). Be sure to register by the deadline of April 17th.Winter-Spring 2026 -

Learn To Knit, Gr 4-8Arts & CraftsLearn to Knit: Twisted Headband, Gr 4-8 Join this beginner-friendly, 2-session class to discover the joy of knitting while creating a stylish twisted headband. First you’ll learn how to cast on and the basic knit stitch. Next you’ll cast off and sew your pieces together to complete the twist. A complete knitting kit is provided, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm. Class size is limited to 10 students. Class Fee: $60. Dates & Time: Tuesdays, March 17 & 24, 3:00–5:00pmFoley Intermediate School Cafeteria Learn to Knit: Ribbed Hat, Gr 4-8 Ribbing is achieved by combining the two basic stitches in knitting: the knit and purl stitches. This hat combines the two together. In this 3-session class you will learn the basic knit and purl stitches while making a basic hat. In session one, you will learn how to do the basic knit and purl stitches and how to cast-on for the pattern. In session two, you will learn how to put the two stitches together to make the ribbed stitch. And in session three, we will learn how to decrease the crown of the hat and cast-off. Ideally you will have been in the twisted headband class first, as this class will build on those original skills, however it is not necessary. A kit will be provided and will have all you need to make this design. Class size is limited to 6 students. Mother-Daughter Event, Age 13+Arts & CraftsNewJoin us for a special morning of creativity, connection and community at our Mother-Daughter Breakfast & Mosaic Art Class all in support of our high school Spanish students traveling to Peru this November! On Saturday, May 9 from 9:00am-12:00pm, participants ages 13-103 are invited to enjoy a relaxed and meaningful experience together. The morning will begin with a light breakfast featuring coffee, tea, juice, bagels with cream cheese, fresh fruit kababs and more. After breakfast, guests will be guided step-by-step in creating a beautiful 4" mosaic terra cotta flower pot. You will design your own unique piece and plant a flower to take home - a lasting reminder of a special day shared together.
