GRASP MathYouth EnrichmentGRASP offers a summer correspondence program designed for students in grades K-8 to help them retain and enhance their reading and math skills during the break. Participants receive a packet containing materials and a booklet with nine lessons, each requiring about an hour to complete. Students can either submit one lesson per week starting June 10th or work at their own pace, ensuring all lessons are submitted by August 7th. Lessons are mailed to GRASP for evaluation and returned with feedback. Students who successfully complete at least 7 lessons with a minimum of 70% accuracy will earn a certificate. Those who achieve 70% accuracy across all 9 lessons will receive a medal. Certificates and medals will now be distributed by schools, rather than mailed directly to participants as in previous years. When registering, please select the grade level your child has just completed to ensure they review the material they have already covered. The class fee is $35 for one subject or $60 for both subjects ($30 each). Be sure to register by the deadline of April 17th.Winter-Spring 2026 -

Gifted & Talented After School Classes (invite only program)Youth EnrichmentThis class is offered to students who were invited by email from the Gifted & Talented Coordinator. The purpose of after school classes is to offer extension and enrichment experiences that cannot be provided during the school day. While these activities support academic learning, that is not their primary focus. Students are expected to follow school and classroom rules, as well as meet the instructor expectations regarding behavior. Student behavior that interferes with these expectations will not be tolerated. Please send a snack and water bottle with your child. If school is canceled, after school classes are also canceled and will be rescheduled when possible. Parents should pick up students in the classroom when class is over Registration will open on January 3, 2026 G/T after School Class Descriptions Puzzles and Brain Games Gr. 2-5 This class is designed to teach perseverance and many higher level skills used in all areas of study. Through the use of computers and more traditional games and puzzles, the student learns strategies to solve puzzles and develop advanced problem solving skills, while having fun in the process! Both girls and boys will enjoy this class. LEGO WeDo Mini-Bots Gr. K-3 Students work at their own pace, alone or in teams, to learn simple engineering and science concepts through the use of LEGO robotic kits and computer software. Flexible curriculum allows students to take this class multiple times and still have new experiences. Both girls and boys will enjoy this class. LEGO Robotics Engineering Gr. 4-5 Students work at their own pace, alone or in teams, to learn additional engineering and science concepts through the use of more advanced LEGO robotic kits and computer software. Flexible curriculum allows students to take this class multiple times and still have new experiences, while advancing their skills. Both girls and boys will enjoy this class. LEGO Robotics Independent Inventors Gr. 6-8 Students work at their own pace, alone or in teams, to learn robotics engineering and science concepts through the use of a variety of LEGO robotic kits and computer software. Flexible curriculum allows students to take this class multiple times and still have new experiences, while advancing their skills. This course is designed especially for students who have had at least 2 previous class experiences and want to get creative and build unique robotic devices with multiple kits. After-School Spanish Club for Grades 1–5Youth EnrichmentJoin us for a fun and interactive Spanish class led by the Foley High School Spanish teacher and the high school students traveling to Peru! This six-week after-school program introduces elementary students to Spanish through games, songs, hands-on activities, and snacks. Each week, students will learn new Spanish words and phrases while exploring themes like greetings, colors, food, animals, and daily activities. The class focuses on listening and speaking in a positive, encouraging environment—no prior Spanish experience needed! Class groups will be divided based on enrollment. Classroom Driver EducationYouth EnrichmentThis course fulfills the requirements needed to obtain a driving permit. Students must be at least 15 years old to take the permit test. We recommend enrolling in this class as close as possible to the time you plan to take the permit test to maximize the retention of information. Attendance for the full 30 hours of classroom instruction is mandatory. Adults seeking a driving permit are also welcome to participate in this class. The "Behind the Wheel" component, comprising 6 hours of hands-on driving instruction, is separate from the 30 hours of classroom learning. Participants can register for their "Behind the Wheel" training once they have completed the classroom instruction. SHAMROCK COOKIE DECORATING & LEPRECHAUN TRAP DESIGN. This course blends holiday cheer with hands-on learning—ideal for curious minds ages 5–12. All materials provided. Just bring your imagination and a little Irish spirit • Cookie Decorating: We’ll kick off the day by decorating shamrock-shaped cookies with green frosting, sprinkles, and plenty of imagination. F.A.S.T. Kids - First Aid & Safety Trained Kids, Age 7-10Youth EnrichmentFirst Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for ages 7-10. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Babysitting 101Youth EnrichmentBabysitting 101 This course is best suited for 10 to 13-year-olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, CPR, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems.
