Learn to Knit: Twisted Headband, Gr 4-8 Join this beginner-friendly, 2-session class to discover the joy of knitting while creating a stylish twisted headband. First you’ll learn how to cast on and the basic knit stitch. Next you’ll cast off and sew your pieces together to complete the twist. A complete knitting kit is provided, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm. Class size is limited to 10 students. Class Fee: $60. Dates & Time: Tuesdays, March 17 & 24, 3:00–5:00pmFoley Intermediate School Cafeteria Learn to Knit: Ribbed Hat, Gr 4-8 Ribbing is achieved by combining the two basic stitches in knitting: the knit and purl stitches. This hat combines the two together. In this 3-session class you will learn the basic knit and purl stitches while making a basic hat. In session one, you will learn how to do the basic knit and purl stitches and how to cast-on for the pattern. In session two, you will learn how to put the two stitches together to make the ribbed stitch. And in session three, we will learn how to decrease the crown of the hat and cast-off. Ideally you will have been in the twisted headband class first, as this class will build on those original skills, however it is not necessary. A kit will be provided and will have all you need to make this design. Class size is limited to 6 students. This is a great opportunity for anyone grades 4-6 who would like to try tennis for the first time to see what it is like, continue to develop their game if they have played before and everything in between. There will be skill development drills along with match play. The only players need is a water bottle and a racquet.

First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for ages 7-10. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Students will receive a book, handouts and a home first aid kit as part of the class.

STEM Exploding Paint Bomb Art: where chemistry meets color. T-Ball TykesLooking for a fun introduction to baseball? DASH Sports T-Ball Tykes camp introduces players to key elements ofthrowing, fielding/catching, batting, and baserunning. The final day of classes is ‘Game Day’ and athletes will showcasetheir skills in a game environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a baseball glove. Baseballs and bats areprovided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year oldage group.

Babysitting 101 This course is best suited for 10 to 13-year-olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, CPR, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems. Students receive a reference book, handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit.

This course fulfills the requirements needed to obtain a driving permit. Students must be at least 15 years old to take the permit test. We recommend enrolling in this class as close as possible to the time you plan to take the permit test to maximize the retention of information. Attendance for the full 30 hours of classroom instruction is mandatory. Adults seeking a driving permit are also welcome to participate in this class. The "Behind the Wheel" component, comprising 6 hours of hands-on driving instruction, is separate from the 30 hours of classroom learning. Participants can register for their "Behind the Wheel" training once they have completed the classroom instruction.

Welcome to Little Einstein's Lab, where curiosity bubbles over and science fizzes to life! In this hands-on, high-energy course, young scientists will explore the wonders of chemistry using the scientific method to guide their wild investigations. This session transforms ordinary household items—like baking soda, vinegar, milk, soap, and food coloring—into spectacular experiments that pop, fizz, foam, and surprise. Eureka Engineering introduces students to the core skills of robotics and STEM through engaging, hands-on learning opportunities. Student groups will work with Lego Mindstorm kits, which include both electrical and mechanical components. The small groups will be mentored by experienced and passionate instructors.
